The Midfield Concourse involved construction of a new five-level terminal, including 20 aircraft stands, a cross-field taxiway, as well as its auxiliary facilities including the aviation fuel supply system and the Automated People Mover connecting Terminal 1, a new taxiway, and extension of the South Runway Road.
The HKIA handled 68.2 million passengers, marking year-on-year increase of 8.3%, with the MFC set to serve ten million passengers a year– about 20% of daily passenger flights, when operating at full capacity.
